So does anyone else here have this game?

It's interesting how much promise there is in this game, and how it has changed from the versions presented back in 2004.

I like the game (not so much the scary parts) but I think it will be vastly improved when the modding tools are released and the features that were cut (sleeping, vehicles) are fixed. The code and textures for the vehicles and sleeping are largely still there so once the tools are provided their should be a great amount of change rapidly.

ive got it too, and taking my time hehe, just LOVE the music.

thought the game would have like a 100+ hours into it?
So was that on easy?

I tryed playing it at the hardest setting, but it was almost impossible to kill anything, so i started over with setting veteran, oh and i ONLY play at night to get the more spooky fealing hehe.
So atm i got to the time of the first day 22:52 (about 1-2hours real time), damn the game is spooky.

Its like in the old days of alien vs predator, were you would be the marine, with the motion scanner. THAT scared the hell out of me...
My friends love to watch me play the game since i could shake so exstreamly much with the mouse and keyboard. You could hear the mouse say SLAP SLAP, then the ppl laughed hehe.
So i did the same thing with stalker when i was suddenly attacked by some anomaly i didnt expect

Playing the game on an obsolete 64mb graphics card is a very different experience from the screen shots...

But still fun enough!

Yeah... Right now I don't have time for STALKER any more. Or my school work. Which is very bad. But the beta is so good!

well STAKLER is a great game, although the story line could have been better, not to mention that the level of freedom wasnt all what people made it out to be.
for me it was that i played it because it looked pretty.
but over all the ending was good since there are alternet endings

I played the hell out of Stalker. I went through it 7-8 times (to get al the different endings).

Really looking forward to the new stalker game coming out "soon".

I'm with foodro.

I got pretty fed up with generic FPS and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was a breeze of fresh air.

One of the highlights for me is the game's atmosphere. The environment is immersive. There is a day and night cycle, changes in weather, even wind. Now imagine a stormy afternoon, a pack of mutated dogs the size of a pony dragging a corpse across a wind-swept field and you'll understand why S.T.A.L.K.E.R. still retains a solid fan base.

I remember vividly the first time I went hunting for bloodsuckers in a desolate village, riddled with anomalies. The first one to decloak in front of me freaked me the fuck out.

The game is also awesome, though even in patch 1.06 the mission system is a bit messed up, keep doing the same thing over and over. But the guns Feels more Realistic than other games.

Its a really good game though it can be really freaky at times. Nasty things that are invisible that appear right in front of you and try and kill you. =P And the saying "curiosity killed the cat works in the game" more like "curiosity killed the Stalkers" XD

Just dont wet your pants and put it down and not play it again for another few months after the first 2 hours of playing.

I have it its a great game and had great replayabilaty. Also their is a large modding communaty making all sourts of funa nd exciting mods. Some ever write whole new stories and scripts.
