LOL, that vid made me laugh.

But i agree, you shouldnt be able to research before its completed. But queuing it ia okey, and then they should start, as building is finished

The same goes for a few other things like:
Start building a planet shield - the shield is up at once. (great if you got an undefend planet and just start building 4 or 5, and its almost un-beat-able)
Start building the jump disabler (cant remember its name) - its up at once.

The game does tell you that you need a second research building, it just appears with the rest of the text/alerts. Maybe they need to overlap the research screen?

I've seen the problems with the buildings operating as soon as you start building them, and since the new update came out, I haven't been able to research in parallel.
