Through the many games that I have played its games like Sins of a Solar Empire that make me think "What in the world is that Ai trying to say to me?" I make a Trade agreement and the ai says great we would love to trade. then you offer to trade Information or some other thing like that and they say " We would never accept an offer from you scum."/exaggerated. It makes me want to cancel the trade aggrement right away. While the ai repling to you is a wonderful thing and it needs to be in the game. I think the things the ai says to you should have a little more feeling and awareness about the circumstances that the ai is saying them. If I have a trade agreement the ai should recognize this and say something a little better like "sorry that information is to sensitive to be shared with you right now. Maybe if you help us take (name of planet)".
Also humans tell the truth, lie backstab, help cheat, make mistakes, have honor, and sometimes mercy (most of the time justice). I think it would be nice to have these "human"-like qualities in the game. The ai's would "Help (or hinder) you" based on your past actions towards them. Maybe have some of ai and the your fleets argue with eachother (your would here the arguments on the com channles) and take shots at eachother. Not Death blow shots; just warning and minimal damage shots. Also if you had been nice to the ai in the past he might give you gifts (he would thank you for a past event over the com channel).
If your going to play a game where the computer talks to you at least make some attepmt at makeing the computer recognize when and where its comments should go. Insults in war and prais in peace.
