I tested for memry leaks buy taking over the first of three star systems and then letting the game run for about 11 hours. I started playing again after 11 hours and it continued to run fine. I researched every item to max and everything worked great. I didnt run into a single glitch or error wich is suprizing on a beta. I had all the options turned all the way up and ran it at the highest resolution in a medium galaxy.
It took me 3 hours just to get a foothold in the second star system because of the culture. This needs to be adjusted or tweeked somehow because its just not a fun feature the way it is and you will of course want people to buy this game lol. I like the idea and wouldnt want to see it go but it should be a little easyer to at least get a foothld to start cranking out your own culture around a new star. Maby let more culture bleed through between stars or something.
The travel time between planets should be speeded up a little or make it ajustable in game set up, especialy in multilayer mode which I havent tried out yet. The amount of time it takes to play a game on a medium map isnt realy viable if you want to attract more multiplayer strategy enthusiasts. Its not so much how long it takes to travel between the planets, although that is certainly part of it, so much as how long it takes your ships to jump again when traveling through multiple systems. It would be much better if the lanes met in V's, even extreem wide angled ones so it would take a big chunk out of the time it takes when doing multiple jumps.
I am going to play it on a smaller map and see how it goes then I am going to try it out on a large map. I will be back on with my feedback in a few days.
