The best way I can come up with to fix this is to change the color of inter-system jumps to red. Why red? My favorite color of course.

The line cannot be a color because the player color spreads along these lines to represent culture.

How about intersystem jumps are a dashed line or something like that?

Or we could go with the 'All stars are fully interconnected' and the attached phase lanes are totally invisible.

Of course, the present phase lane system within star systems would remain the same as it is now.

Well, this issue doesn't only happen with star lines, it's happened with interplanetary connections as well.
