Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

maximum activations reached???

By Posted July 18, 2007 14:01:05
someone from IC or stardock please need assistance. i recieved a message on my activation product that the serial numbers i have have reached a maximun ativation.

pls i have sent messages to Blair and i tried to send a message to stardock support but was unssuccessful. if someone from IC or StarDock would kindly reset my activation counts it would really mean so much for ppl with the same problems.

it's about a week now since i've played the game. unless someone can tell me how to email stardock support. for some reason i always get error message sending emails to stardock support.

tnx again.

Have you been sharing your product with anyone else?....Dumb question. If you had, it isn't like your going to admit it
July 18, 2007 14:22:58
LoL! no i think if i did share it i believe IC would find out who else has activated the serial number. i've always used it on this computer. its just when i was in proccess of upgrading my home edition to xp pro.

i was unable to locate my other original C:drive. i deleted all my C:drive before even backing up my old drives. so now it won't let me access the game without the proper activation being reset due to maximum activation reached.

it's been a week since i've played the game and it is killing me. it's like a ciggarete, you got to have it. or like chronic, you got to have it. or it's like a syrup on a pancake, you got to have it. it's like sugar on your coffee, you got to have it. it's like water when your thirsty, you got to have it.

well you guys get my point. i've been hooked and i need assisstance on my habit. pls, i kindly would appreciate the help for reseting my activation serial number again.

btw i emailed Yarlen on private message so i'm still waiting for his reply. i gave him my email addy too.

i saw someone else had the problem, and Yarlen or Kryo said the one should contact support@stardock.com to get it to work.

It happens if you use the key too many times

Hmm , Ive used mine twice to activate on two pcs. I wonder how many times you can activate it :/
July 18, 2007 14:59:42
15000000000000000 and 1 times... or maybe not...

I take it this means that Stardock isn't going with GalCiv's "however many computers you want" (and totally copy protection free) approach?

They are still going in the direction of no CD/DVD copy protection, thats for sure.

I've installed it on about 3 computers now (all mine). Never had any trouble.

I think the Stardock download security measures are fine as it is. If somebody is dishonest enough to pirate games, would you really want to trust them with your account info to setup games on their system? You're account info would likely end up sold on Ebay or part of a free online Warrez Crack.

tnx to Yarlen and Blair for fixing my account. you guys are the SHlT!!

da bomb would be fine.

All of our betas contain online activation. The final retail version won't have copy protection, but your serial number and online activation will be required for all updates.

GunMetal

I've reset your activation count.

If you retain the sig.bin file in your product directory, you should not need to activate again (unless you reinstall windows).

How does the activation system work? Is it X actions per time period. Total activations, Number of Computers, etc? I really liked the fact GalCiv II had no locks - that is the primary reason why I bought the game.

I'm asking because I have a dedicated gaming machine. I reformat the machine every so often whenever it gets bogged down. I also upgrade the machine quite a bit to keep up with new games.

Just curious how and when activations are locked out.
