The first thing I want to say is well done on the best game of its type (Space RTS) I have ever played!
To be 100% honest with you I dont know anything that needs improving its a wonderful game, with very clear, crisp graphics and details, from zooming right out to all the way in the graphics dont change which is fantastic, not many games get it right, take Supreame Commander for example, even on highest graphics at maximum zoom out ALOT of texture detail is lost

The only thing I can think of that needs improving is the icons when your zoomed out, they cover the ships, which granted become only a few pixels big, but maybe if Icons are smaller than what they are now, then on a mouse over, they become their current size, this would mean that there isnt icons taking up alot of space, but they are still useful as they enlarge on a mouseover effect.

Another thing which I just thought of that would be awesome to have is an option to turn on a small zoom panel, this panel when the option for it is turned on, would have the effect of appearing at maximum zoom, then when you mouseover a ship or structure or another object would get zoomed in on to fit within this small panel, this has the advantage of more easily knowing what is selected, seeing the ships awesome graphics upclose, while still being zoomed out 100% and for the people that didnt like this option, it could be turned on and off in the games "Game Options" the option could be called..."Zoom Pane" for example...
Anyway its just a thought, one that I would LOVE to see implemented...but with or without it this is one game that will not be neglected by me, I love this game even in BETA phase, keep up the fantastic work!!!
