A couple of questions. Please help me!

Asteroids and Destroying structures!

How does one destroy their own structure in order to make room for others? and also how does one get constructors into asteroid belts?

On the bottom of the screen there is big picture of the unit you select. There is a little black, and yellow striped bar below that.. click it. That scuttles units.

You cant colonize asteroid belts. So you cant have constructors there. You can only colonize "asteroid planets", or "dead asteroids". The info cards should tell you if it is colonizable or not. Constructors spawn on colonized worlds only, and they cant leave the gravity well, or phase jump.

Sadly I wish we could use asteroid belts for extra resources...

Is there a way to mod how many logistic slots you get per planet? This low cap is making it exceedingly difficult for me.

You can mod it, but you can also develop a planet to get more slots -- have you tried that, yet?

lol. i never seen a resource collectors since homeworld 1&2. but if you was talking about civilian ship icons then that would be the mini resource collectors that phase jumps from planet to planet using the lanes for traderoute.

maybe you was talking about constructor frigates? they are the ones that construct your resource facilities for your credit and miniral resources.

i know about refinary but is there a resource collector?

I am looking at asteroids. I see an icon saying that there is crystal and metal to be had. I have no way of building resource collectors or whatever they are called on top of those in order to gather said resource

And yes I have tried upgrading my logistics on planet. Just wasnt ENOUGH for me. But I modded it to be double and things picked up a lot faster for me.

The "Epic Battles" aren't quite so epic. I have a few frigates firing at other frigates. Is it gonna get any bigger? Like 5 capital ships and 30 frigates and cruisers on both sides would be nice. I guess it will get that way once I get into the larger maps. I also am wondering if the graphics for the ships are the final models. They don't look as great as the screenshots in magazines. I understand it could just be placeholders and what not.

you realize you can colonize asteroids, right? its the asteroid belts that you cannot touch.

all you can build is a couple frigates??????

5 caps is only rare for me, becouse I build caps slow, But that is still not that many/

sounds like a) you're playing on a small map, or you havent done any fleet point upgrades.

They don't look as great as the screenshots in magazines

The screenshots you see in the magazines and on websites are in-game. It's possible your graphics settings are not on the highest level. Go to menu > options > video and max everything out to make sure.  If that doesn't do it, zoom in and have fun with the camera...there are many minute details you may be missing unless you look closer

You should be able to build a lot of frigates, a good amount of cruisers, and 4-5 capital ships in a long-lasting game on a medium sized map. At least that's what I've seen other people accomplish (I focus a bit too much on capitals, so I end up not having a huge amount of frigats. I'll correct that ).

Have any of the magazines been given your internal build to test? I know some of the screenies I've seen were clearly of Advent -- I've got one on my desktop of some giant flying wing thingey, which looks like nothing in beta 4!
