Possible graphical bug/glitch?

Alright well in some instances, I can't really narrow it down to a certain moment because it mostley happens randomly. The effects, like the laser shots, pulse shots, etc from ships disappear, like you'd see the other ship getting damaged, but no shot effects are on screen. Like the yellow stuff the vasari frigates fire? its not there but you do see damage on the enemy ship.

I don't know if anyone else has encountered this issue. My specifications are as follows.

2 8800GTX's in SLI
QX6700
4GB of Ram.

Try raising the MaxParticleCount value in your user.setting file. You can find the file at:

Vista:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting\user.setting

XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting\user.setting

I raised it to 11,000, hope thats realistic and won't mess up the game. Btw to make the particles re-appear I save, then re-load and they start up again, maybe that has something to do with the issue? I dunno.

I've been having the same problem. It mostly only happens with the Vasari pulse and wave weapons. The beams still show as they should. I tried doubling the particle count as shown but it didn't work. Also the phase lane effects (the comet-like thing) disappear after a few seconds on frigates.
more of a bug report than anything since saveing then reloading fixes the weapons display for a bit, but it does get old doing that for every battle.
