First off:
Insert "Hi I'm new" schpiel here.
Insert adulations for IC and SD for making the game that I've wanted since I first bit into MOO2 when I still got up on saturday mornings for teh power rangers.
Insert adulations for forums for being "mostly" helpful

So I'm not usually the most vocal forum-goer, mostly chiming in here and there for any questions asked. Made this map, thought someone else might like it.

Basic premise:
Large system (350 planets), 10 players, 2 teams, one chokepoint. I thought about making it a single planet-to-planet chokepoint, then use the star as the chokepoint before deciding on a chokepoint "area".
Haven't play-tested thoroughly, so not sure if it's the greatest or worst map ever made, but I've tried to make it balanced. Not the prettiest thing around, but the lanes should match up correctly.
I usually only play singleplayer, but it should be multiplayer compatible (month long game? ). The teams are set for top 5 in the setup menu vs. the bottom 5. I reckon you could do less if you simply fill out the upper and bottom most spots first.
Feel free to tinker with it to your hearts desire.

One thing though, once a vas broke through and built a phase stabilizer on the other side the choke would be irrelevant. That would give them a leg up.

Haha, oh wow. Maps like this are exactly why we need culture to give us neutral planets.

Dumb question, but where do I save it? I've saved the .galaxy file into %USER_HOME%\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy and it doesn't show up when I go to the custom maps section during selection. Is there something else I need to do to install it? I'm running version 1.0.4 and Vista 32 bit.

Maps made using the Galaxy Forge (such as this) need to be placed in the Galaxy folder under the location the game itself is installed, rather than the user folder. They'll then appear under the appropriate size category in-game, rather than the custom (custom only shows maps made in-game).

Thanks for the help. I've tried saving it to the Galaxy Directory and it doesn't seem to work. I can cycle through all map sizes in both single and multi player, but I can't see the new map in any view. I opened it in textpad and compared it to Centrifuge.galaxy and it appears to be missing header data such as "browseName". I tried adding that in by hand, but it still doesn't appear when I browse through the maps. I'm running version 1.0.4

Open it up in textpad again and make sure that the version number says 1 instead of 0, like so: "versionNumber 1", it should be the second or third line down.

This is way to big. By teh time fightign would occure people would be almsot teched out. Yeah Vasari will end up beign the only viable race because of Kotsura cannons and phase stabilisers. Tec and Advetn will be unable to defend them selves from that.
