So from reading around, and hearing the interview with the producer of this fine game on the January 31st edition of the PC Gamer Podcast, I thought I'd give Sins a try.
I wasn't disappointed in the slightest! Great game!
During the interview the producer (who's name I can't recall - sorry

) he mentioned that shield mitigation is a big deal, and I noticed that it does have quite the impact.
I also read in a preview somewhere that I wouldn't need to micro manage huge battles too much. Unfortunately, I haven't really noticed that. For example, when I send a large fleet of frigates, lead by a capital ship, all the frigates just focus their fire on what ever unit my capital ship decides to attack. This means that I sometimes have 50+ ship fleets all attacking one unit, losing a bunch of potential damage to the effects of shield mitigation.
Am I doing something wrong? Do the targets get selected at a fleet level rather then an individual unit level?
