"Hosting failure" when hosting games, but things seems to work fine anyway?

Hosting Failure: ICO has detected that most players cannot join your game. This is usually caused by a firewall and/or router configurations. For more information on resolving this issue, please see the SINs FAQ at https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/

This is the messages i get everytime i host a game. The funny thing is that i bought the game on sunday, played it and this messages never turned up, but then suddenly, the next day(monday) it started showing up, and it is still popping up everytime i host. The second weird thing is that this messages doesn't seem to do anything, because people can connect fine to my game and play. So what is this?

Am not behind any firewall, my connection goes into a computer running some vmware server(or something) which goes into our router, am not the one controlling the internet in the house, so i dont have the exact info, but i know that am all out in the open, according to this http://66.134.89.225/~sic/nettest.html

Anyway this doesn't seem to be an issue since everything seems to work fine, even though the messages is saying something else. So i wonder if anyone may know why? Is it a bug or something?

I get this all the time aswell, but im putting it down to the game not knowing crap about my firewall, considering I dont have a firewall (software) and my modems hardware firewall is disabled, and it still says it, so just put it down to the game being incorrect

Yeah, the game is wrong - I get this message every time I host, and the games still work perfectly. I believe I previously saw someone explaining it has something to do with the way ICO checks that the port 6112 is forwarded correctly, aparently the game doesn't do it right so a lot of the checks fail, when it's actually set up perfectly.

Yes, just read through some post in the topic "How to: see/connect-to/host SERVERS!" from @the_Monk and there i found:
@ EVERYONE - IMPORTANT

I have seen that message from IronClad "...Most people will not be able to join your game...." everytime I've hosted since the first 2 or three games I hosted (and I haven't changed anything on my end). The games I host are still able to be joined by EVERYONE and everything works like a charm! What this means is, that IronClad have intruduced a "connection checking" method on their end which takes into consideration WAN ping, IDENT (maybe), open ports, etc. If you fail even one of those, their message pops up. While ping and ident are an easy way to see if a host is online or not, they're not required at all for the actual "connection process".

To re-cap, seeing that message from IronClad doesn't at all mean that it won't work. Ever since they setup their "connection-testing" I've been getting that message as well. I don't allow WAN ping or IDENT so I'm assuming that's why my setup "fails". In any case, I am able (and have many times now) to HOST without any issues whatsoever!

So since everything works fine, even though the messages say something else, you can just ignore it seems.
