Arid, Terrid and Arctic planet upgrades

           I am specifically talking about the upgrades that increase the population of planets (TEC has them I have played a bit of Vasari and Advent but I am not sure if they do).  Basically these upgrades increase the population on planets therefore increasing its income rate right? Thanks for the help.

What a ... misleading statement.

Upgrading the terran version two times costs less than a tradeport, brings 1.4 credits of additional income per terran planet and does not use logistic slots (you can still build trade ports...).
Even if your homeworld is the only terran planet you have in a game the first two upgrades are a good investment paying off (with a single terran planet!) after ~15 minutes.
If you dont have a very long trade route bonus already a trade port will take longer for that.


The upgrades for the other planet types take longer to pay off, and depend on the map and your empire.

All the factions have population bonus techs, but they vary in which planet types they apply to.

If I remember right:

TEC get +30% Terran pop, +15% Desert pop, +15% Ice pop
Advent get +30% Desert pop, +15% Terran pop
Vasari get +30 Volcanic pop, +15% Terran pop, +15% Ice pop
