Hi All,
I'm posting yet another mini-dump thread as the others seem to have gotten a little off topic. I have been able to play one (read as singluar) multiplayer game (ICO, LAN, Hamachi...) to completion without a mini-dump on either mine or other players PC's. I have been able to play successfully in single player games, but that kind of defeats the point of a game like Sins. I've waited patiently for patches to come out, but they have not fixed the problem. Heck, I've even replaced my NVidia video cards (7950's) with an ATI (3870 X2) due to posts on these forums about NVidia driver problems!
I beta tested this game and this mini dump issue was not prevalent at that time. Something changed with the release code.
I have submitted my most recent mini-dumps, dxdiag, etc... to Ironclad support. I've also run them through WinDbg and found two culprits (atiumdag.dll and sins of a solar empire.exe), but that is as far as I can go with the mini-dumps myself (no debug symbols to gather additional information).
For the purposes of this post my system specs are:
AMD FX-60
Abit AN8-32X motherboard (NForce chipset)
4 GB RAM
ATI 3870 X2 (Catalyst 8.3)
SoundBlaster Xi-Fi Fatality
Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit SP1
Please, Stardock/Ironclad, address the issue. I've been a long time fan of Stardock for your outstanding work, constant updating and listening to customer feedback. It is more than a little disappointing to experience these issues now when all previous experiences have been positive. I understand Stardock is the publisher and Ironclad is the developer, but I have have never experienced anything like this from any of the developers Stardock has published in the past.
