Yeah I have had the same problem I found that it is not a trivial thing though some people would have me believe it to be so.
I tried the Sins theme but found the theme too heavy to stay. It was also somewhat unstable, my windows kept freezing after I had applied the Theme so I used MyColors Vista Desktop option to revert to default,
In my previous experience with other Stardock apps I found you cannot just try to use windows features to restore default themes, windowblinds, icons etc or you will end up confusing the Stardock product and the result will be a messed up UI.
The Sins theme was removed except for a few individual icons which no matter what I tried I couldn't get back to normal and I tried many ways to accomplish it (after I had tried the reasonable ways already). My Live folder icons are still Sins themed and my removeable drives icon are different than the defaults that installed with Vista. Some icons I have lost altogether, such as the icons for my networked computers they are now just default unknown file type icons
I have seen this behavior with both this MyColors Sins theme and in other Stardock products, IconPackager and Theme Manager. On both XP when I used that and now with Vista and after many program updates that should have fixed these errors in the programs after they were reported.
Note I have already tried the default responses to this problem such as using the programs features to Rebuild/Repair the icon cache without any discernable effect at all.
Even after going thru replacing my imageres.dll file with a new one thru a command prompt from my Windows install disk Iconpackager still thinks that my folders default folders should be Sins themed ones. System restore does nothing. Third party apps also cannot help me to get everything back to normal. I fear that I may have to re-install windows again to fix it once and for all.
I am also sure that I had no other conflicting icon changing applications that are messing with the Stardock programs as I have been asked before when I have reported this problem. I did not have much besides a Windows install fresh from a format and installing SP1. I only installed other Stardock stuff like IconPackager after the fact to try to fix the icons, to no avail.
I really like some of the themes available from Stardock and friends, I just wish I could depend on the software to be able to get everything back to normal between themes or before uninstallingh etc. As it is, I would recommend only using WindowBlinds to change the look of the UI only, in my experience they have fixed any problems I have experienced with that program in the past it works great these days.
I certainly won't try to apply whole theme packages or change icons with Stardock apps in the future if I can help it.
