Resurrection works if you have at least two capital ships in the same group as the Progenitor Mothership. What happens, is if one of the capital ships, is destoryed, then the Progenitor mothership will make the exp of the other ship equal to that of the ship that was destoryed.

So lets say that you have a level 5 Radiance Battleship, a level 3 Halcyon Carrier and the level 6 Mother ship(min level need to get Resurrection) in the same group(around 5000 units form each other). If the Radiance battleship, is destoryed, then the Halcyon carrier becomes a level 5 carrier( which is equal level to the destory battleship).

Wow, suddenly that ability sounds useful! Does the Progenitor need to have been in the well when the capital ship died? Because otherwise that gives me yet more incentive to use Progenitors.

The Progenitor doesn't have to be in the well that the ship died in, I just tested this out because I was under the impression that both ships had to be close to the Progenitor and the ability had to be triggered right before the death of a capital (making it near useless in my mind).

I loaded up a game where I had a lot of veteran capitals, moved my Mothership to my homeworld, then skuttled one of the capitals who was in the adjacent one. Then built a new capital at the yard where the Mothership was waiting, used it, and magic.

However, when I did the same thing again I had no results at all from the Resurrection ability, despite scuttling another capital in that same well.

If it's not too much trouble, can someone who has done it to multiple ships walk me through the process? Where the ships were in relation to one another, what order they are destroyed, etc.? I find this fascinating, I love Advent and their special abilities, but the loss of just one high level capital can cost the game for Advent because of how important they can be. The possibilities presented by this ability seem very interesting.

Tested this out. It looks like Spirits are staying at the place the ship is destroyed. They can be picked up by a progenitor at the system of destruction and adjacent ones. If the spirits disappear after a while i dont know. The progenitor doesnt have to be present in the system or adjecent one at the time of the destruction.

That comment was based on the fact that games typically end before a player gets multiple high level cap ships, one of which would have to be the progenitor.

Also, the progenitor is an amazing cap. Both shield regen and malice are flippin awesome. I honestly thing that like, anima tempest or the radience lv 6 ability would be a better one to have in a small game.

In large games resurrection would be awesome, but only until you were hit with my returning armada. RA needs to be nerfed.
