Put it this way, when you need them, you will know.

They are hard to explain, but every Ability and Buff(something the abilities use) uses these things, but finding the one you want is long and hard work. This list helps those who need to find a specific one, without trudging through hundreds of files.

Hi bailknight.
I've tested all constraint tonight.
Everthing is fine(Include 2 constraint you mark ?) except one constraint.
constraint "WithinSolarSystem"
should be
constraint "WithinCurrentSolarSystem"
Otherwise the game may crash when move your mouse on the ability with that constraint.

this is very interesting and two questions immediately spring to mind:

1) Can anyone tell me which Buff uses the modifier "HasShieldMeshEffect", that looks like a rather useful one to me.

2) Can you change or alter the modifiers e.g. I know already "PhaseOut" causes the ship model textures to become semi-transparent but I cannot see how to control the level of the transparency applied by the modifier.

I know non-hyperspace ship speed is not in the list of research modifiers, but is there any possible way to make a research that modifies ship speed? And if there isn't this is my request to have it implemented.

Can anyone tell me what the TeleportTowardsTarget and TeleportTowardsMoveTarget do? I'm trying to make an orbital planet module (stargate) that would do exactly what a wormhole does.

One that is not on the list is buffOverTimeActionType "Magnetize".

If you try buffInstantActionType ApplyBuffToTargetsInRadius on ships and it fails to work type ApplyBuffToTargetsInRadiusWithTravel. It worked for me with no other changes at all to the code.

TFL: BuffAdaptiveShield.entity, BuffPlanetShieldOnPlanet.entity.

Q1:It is possible, but there are dozens of other research items already queued up. Q2:TTMoveTarget make the ship move instantly towards the target (which is local to the gravity well). TTTarget looks like it stops teleporting, but is not properly named. At the bottom of a planet entity file there is a flag "Is Wormhole" T/F. You will have to use that.

Devs, we need the design doc section for all modifiers with their full condition lists, and the real world descriptions for them. We would also like a complete list of all hard coded effects and abilities such as buffOverTimeActionType "Magnetize". Thank You.

I've begun figuring out what all the various .entity files do, for reference to ease making new ones that fit my uses. This is by no means a perfect list, but I think it would help a lot of people. Sovereign797, ! I had just started on listing the buffs when I decided to come here and check up on this thread. You saved me a lot of work and helped us all out greatly!

The orbital cannon are the buff effects for the three races, so BuffPhaseOrbitalCannon creates creates a cannon shell to lob at the target planet.

Buff Domination looks like it takes over the enemy target, so that their faction is now considered the same as the faction that used the buff.

BuffCaptureNeutralEntity does the same as Domination against neutrals.

or you can copy and paste the lists into notepad and make use of the 'find' feature to ease your eyeballs having to look through the list.

I tried to keep with a common theme describing the buffs to make it easier to search if you know what words you're looking for. I think I developed my little descriptive convention about a third of the way in so the first third may not be perfect, I'll probably go through the list again and make sure they all have similar keywords.

Is there a way to create an ability that makes the ship casting it pick a new target according to the parameters set by the ability? It could be useful to automate some ships behavior like making them hunt down all structures in range, pick on certain ships types during fleet engagements or retarget on nearby near dead ships to finish them off...
