I am just starting the game and have played a couple of single player scenarios. I am playing the TEC right now

I just learned that my overwhelming force of battleships is no match for mabee two battleships and a mix of cruisers and frigates. Even if you take more than one capital into combat, I found it is best to mix the classes (A big thumper, A support ship and a carrier). The computer has taught me that Robotics cruisers are a must this ship can equalize a capital force more than twice your size that doesnt have robotics cruisers.

So what else dont I know? I havent figured out frigates yet, they are so defensless that even enmass, are easily wiped out. So usually, I go for the missle spammers and just let other ships take the beating.

What do you guys like? For any of the races?
