Glitch or just forgetfulness?

fighters and bombers flying though stars!!!!

Just thought i would try to bring this to the developers attention, if it hasn't been already. My fighters and bombers can fly through the center of a star!!!! a blue one if it makes any difference, which i dont think it should. if you can fly through a star you gotta be some kind of god! or some crazy technologies.  It needs to be fixed!!!!

It's neither a glitch nor forgetfulness.

Fighters behave properly. Since each craft is its individual unit, the icon is not always representative of each craft's position. If you focus on a single strike craft, you should see it actually fly over the star as it should, it's just the icon that moves through it.

Annatar, strikecraft clip through planets and such, certainly. While, yeah, when I'm around a star they usually do fly around, it's possible that some of the strikecraft actually are flying inside the star. I really wish they would make strikecraft stop clipping through things - it can kind of ruin some battles.

It would be quite if some do but some don't, since there's nothing different between one ship in a squadron from another - do you have a screenshot of the actual craft clipping through a star/planet?

This came up many times during beta, and we always figured out that it was the icon, not the actual ships, that are clipping.

lol this has been a glitch in all the betas as well but i dont know y it hasent been solved yet its stupid.

Once again, show us a screenshot of the actual ship model of a fighter clipping

Edit: I also remember now a discussion that possibly strike craft might not have collision detection because the sheer number of them would put too much strain on the cpu, and since fighters are tiny, most clipping issues would not be noticed. But I don't know if this is how IC actually implemented it or not. So.. screenshot

Yeah, strike craft don't have full collision detection.

They like to fly through capital ships. They shouldn't fly through planets and stars, path finding should prevent that, but it doesn't seem to work all the time.

What button do you press for a screen shot, and i zoomed in on a bomber as it flew through a star... again. stayed with it from one end to the other, the whole squad

Print Screen. Though in Vista there's a weird bug that you have to remap the key sometimes or it won't work. Works fine for me but not everyone   

Still, I guess I wouldn't expect it 'fixed' if it happens consistently, as mentioned above there's been discussion previously and performance issues have been brought up..
