LOOK UP TO THE SKY! IT’S A BIRD !
The Gods mock Heroes as in old
Days of Woe for Hercules under Zeus’ Wrath
And Jason under Neptune’s scorn
Yet with one undying push
All is surmounted
Much like the man in the cape
Who gave us our days of Glory
Coming as he was
When the world needed
To affirm this Spirit
As one after the other
Evil, plaguing empires, fell.
Is this so much to ask –
Defeating Bad for Good ?
Must it be humbled by some Divine Hand
Casting a mirror on our hero
To shine the reality of a cripple ?
Is this some writing on the wall
Foreboding ill on Arrogance?
Unmasking vulnerabilities of Isolation ?
The cripple behind the cape
Gave his last push
Undying as it was
Broke free for millions
To focus on unfought wars
Against Hunger, Injustice and Disease
In a world that lives on
Looking to the sky, saying
“It’s a bird..
No, It’s a plane..
No.. it’s us!”
