Spore Creature Creator was released on a game magazine and after that it went on the net really fast.

I know theres a Spore thread, but it would be nice to have a thread all to itself for images of your creatures.

So if you dont wanna wait until the 17th, download the trial version from here
http://www.sins.bz/temp/SCCTrialSetup.rar
or
http://dl.qj.net/Spore-Creature-Creator-Free-Trial-Edition-PC-Gaming/pg/12/fid/17118/catid/519
or
google it

oh and its legal

cheers

Actually, if you read the EULA, EA reserves the right to use your creations not only in the game, but in advertising, websites, expansions... pretty much anywhere.

Of course, that's about standard contract when writing software (source code right go to the one who ordered), only with the twist that - with the CC - we PAY EA so they can use our creations.

I have to admit, someone at EA is a genius for figuring this out.

that was supposed to be the point of the game as will wright allready explained in 2005.

instead of creating a "world" for the player to play in, the player can create its own world any wich way he or she pleases.
also they dont have to create thousands of worlds for us to visit as the spore community creates everything themselves.

also u dont pay ea so they can use your creations, u pay them for the game/tools to make it with and everything u make is part of the game.
Its not like u made a mod or something.
Also if u want to share ur creations u have to clik a button to do so.

Now im not defending ea's screwed up way of handeling their clients or their nazi-like their copy protection, im just saying that the creations people make in spore is what makes the game.
so what else would u put in ur advertisement then the top rated creations in the game, screens of the creature, vehicle and building creator?

All of these silly 'legged' creatures! Pah! Legs are out, funky no-legged beasties are in!

Witness the beauty of Handsome Herber, so named as all must surely agree that he is the handsomest beastie in all of Sporeville.

Made something like the Antlion in Half-Life 2. Very good flyer (although in Spore, it's more like gliding?), very aggressive.

Quite proud of how this came out. Utterly impractical when it comes to eating, but me and my two year old came up with this one. The Wooble.

This was the first we came up with. The Camosaur.

Here are two new creatures that I made recently. The first one was uploaded, but it still hasn't shown up on my profile or on the Sporepedia. The second one is up, but it seems like someone didn't like it.

Both of them took me some time to fine-tune.

Yes, they do. It took me some time to get the proportion correct.

In case you guys were interested, you can search for 'Angelesque' in the Sporepedia and my angel-like creature will come up. The Succubesque creature can be found via links in my spore profile. It's currently not searchable nor is it listed in my profile, all due to errors that are affecting some users.

I wanted to comment on something someone mentioned earlier, I don't know if it has been addressed or not. But, you CAN make flyers in this creature creation thing. I made a quick little "wasp-type" creature, and you can even get it to attack with its "stinger".

1. Simply lift the body in the air, adjust the spine thickness to get your body and thorax, and add some wings from the extras section (whatever is after weapons).

2. Add and arm (not a leg) where the stinger would be and position it so theres only one. This can be done, it just takes a little trying. I had to place the arms then move them until it fused into 1. Minimize the length of the joints and make the hands as small as possible.

3. Go to weapons and add the horn or the spike ball or whatever to the last joint on the hand and make the weapon a little bigger.

4. Click on the test drive and it will float around and when you hit "punch", it will strike with the stinger. Since it has no legs it will float, not fall to the ground.

I will post mine in the future, Im too lazy to do so atm

NOTE: this is in the full version of the creator, not the trial.

Actually, you don't need to keep a hand on the arm. You can just pull it off and put the 'stinger' directly on there instead.

Hm. Somehow the CC doesn't like me. Everything works fine, but when I hit 'save and exit' my computer reboots. The free version didn't have that problem...

I'm guessing that you save it before you hit the 'save and exit' button now, am I right?

You should post that problem in the Spore tech help forums and see if anyone else has the same problem and if they have a workaround.

I tried to create a Beholder and the stupid thing keeps falling to the ground when I go to test. I wish I could give it a float property because wings just wouldnt look right.

I just picked up the full program at GS for $10. (Walmart has it for $10 but includes a $5 gift card but I got tired of trying to find it) If you upgrade you have to uninstall the demo and I accidentally erased all my creatures so when it asks if you want all data erased say no.

I got a few minutes to play around with it but since then I haven't because my kids have taken over making creatures. Oh well. My oldest is going to flip when I show him the next program will allow him to make vehicles.

If you uploaded your previous creations, you can just download them from the Sporepedia through your profile.

It seems so far that I can avoid reboots if I

- have the EA Download Manager running (with the hotfix update)
- use the options panel to load creatures or exit the game directly.

Still, very odd behaviour.

I also tried a beholder. It works sort of, if you include arms. I'll post a screenshot this evening.

Yea, I was forced to add wings if you want it to float (sorta makes sense I guess). If you dont, it just falls to the ground and rolls around, so a beholder might be tough to figure out. You can always add wings, minimize them as small as possible, then rotate them so they are "inside" the body where you cant see them.

And as far as I can tell, if you add wings AND legs, it will always walk, which sorta stinks.
