No it was a TEC on TEC battle

I had a battle of about 100 ships earlier, TEC VS Advent + Advent (w/o Guardians, i think) and didn't notice any slowdowns. I observed the battle from a Kols POV. Playing 1280x1027, all maxed, Specs: 2.6 GHz Core 2 Duo, 2 GB DDR2 800 RAM, GF 9600GT (512MB), running 32b Vista Ultimate.

i often had problems with overclocking in some games. after i heavy overclocked a cpu the game runs very slowly. Without overclocking it just runs faster.. in this situaion i would turn of the overclocking for a test.

I used to have this problem too. Although the driver fix seems to indicate that it was a software issue, I'll say this if the problem persists after the update: it could be heat issues. I found that the cards were getting pretty hot, so I invested in a 160 CFM fan to blow on them. Granted, now my case sounds like a baby jet engine, and maybe I didn't need THAT powerful of a fan, but I have never ever had a hangup like what you described again. For any game.

Get HWmonitor if that does happen to watch the temperature of your cards. If they get in the 80's, you might want to check to make sure you have good case ventilation. By that, I mean some great airflow coming in from the bottom of the case in front, with equally good air blowing out the back, plus a casefan mounted next to the side of your SLI setup blowing towards the cards.

I have a similar setup to the OP's: 3.6 overclocked e8800 dual-core, 2 gigs of ram, and twin 8800 GTX OC's in SLI with two 10,000 RPM Raptors in a RAID-0. I used to have some occasional issues with guardians and their shield bubble, but after the beta-patch, those lag spikes entirely disappeared.

I'm having fps problems too.

My specs are:

Dual Core 3.16 ghz not overclocked
Nvidia 8800 GTS 512 meg
3 gig of DDR2 ram Corsair
22" Fullscreen monitor

In a 200 ships battle with around 5 cap ships on each side, my game started running at 9-10 fps, which was very painful to watch. I expected things to go smoothly, as I can run Company of Heroes with the highest settings without a problem.

PLEASE NOTE THAT I'M NOT IN BETA. But still, if anyone got any advice, that'd be great. I love this game and I love epic battles, it just kinda sucks to watch them go frames by frames
