Whenever im fighting non TEC enemies, my entire fleet gets disabled. All ships show in red:

Abilities Disabled
Phase Jump Disabled
Sub-light main engines disabled
Sub-light manouvering engines disabled
Passive regeneration disabled
Weapons disabled

My fleet just sits there like a duck. I am guaranteed to lose unless I bring superior numbers and force the enemy to flee and then pick off their ships.

Its a capital ship ability, they use specail abilities that can disable some or all of your ships.

Ok so how do I kill their capital ships if my ships cant move or shoot? And when they can shoot, the capital ships shields and hull get repaired and restored faster than I can damage them.

Someone's going to have to refresh my memory on what TEC capital ship can do this to a whole fleet as I've played them a long time off and on now and I don't recall any such ability.

Edit: Well, there's Ceasefire, but neither side can shoot then. And you can move just fine, so color me confused. And there's the Hoshiko's disabling ability, but you'd have to have a ton of them to halt an entire fleet.

Were you fighting the Vasari? That sounds like a Stilakus Subverter, but it would only affect a few of your frigates at a time. A Kostura Cannon would do it to everything, but I've never seen a computer build a superweapon.

Yes I am fighting the Vasari. It takes out my entire fleet. All ships disabled except for the capital ships at the very back. And it lasts such a long time that my 50 heavy cruiers get obliterated without getting more than a handful of kills. I have tried taking out all their Subverters but it still happens.

And that cannon description says it targets structures only. It can be used against ships?

That definitely sounds like multiple subverters. A Kostura cannon explosion only disables ships for like 10 seconds (buildings for a minute or two), but subverters can pretty much lock you down until they run out of antimatter.

They can't disable strike craft as far as I know, so you could try to assassinate the subverters with fighters or bombers before they start locking you down.

BTW Subverters got massive nerf on this ability, so it would be harder to see than now.
