(Not) enhanced for multi-core?

The back of the box says "enhanced for multicore" but even with this update the game only seems to use one core (?). I'm using 64 bit Windows Vista Ultimate with a Q6600 and use all cores in multimedia and benchmarking programmes but not Sins.

SINS only uses an additional core for texture pre-caching. After that SINS is happily single-core.

I wish it would make full use of my dual-core, because huge fights tend to kill my fps badly!

I have noticed the game hesitate slightly when large fights start in a one star system with only one enemy and pirates which is odd when using an overclocked quad core CPU and 2GB DDR3 memory with an 8800GT. TBH I had expected it to run absolutely smoothly.
