i found an interesting bug when it comes to building fighter from capital ships. idk if it does it with hanger defense or with any other group than the advent, BUT, if you have a max fighter capacity of 2 you can build two fighters/bombers and then scuttle them and build the other kind of strike craft. it wont ever scuttle the original fighters.
so you have a max of 2 squads, but you can get 2X that much.
