Should I try the beta or stay at 1.05?

So i just bought this game last week and I love it but just out of curiousity, do you all think it would be worth it to move to the beta 1.09 or should I stay using 1.05?  I don't really have any issues really with the game currently on 1.05 so should I just wait for 1.1 to become finalized?  Opinions/thoughts?

Not offhand. I'm just worried about a few peoples reports of graphic slowdowns. I have a solid system so i'm too worried. I think i'll check it out tonight.

I've had (And heard) the opposite. It runs faster and looks better for me.

Strike craft are arguably too powerful now, but the game's only run better for me. No bugs, and it sped up a bit.

The strike craft thing really is only a minor problem, by properly preparing for carriers early now instead of ignoring them like in 1.05 you can defend from it. They are very strong yes, but I predict that the carriers themselves hp and shield or speed will be brought down a notch or two making them more balanced. If not then not its ironclads world, we just play in it and will be forced to adapt.

Trust me I did my fair share of complaining about the strike craft, but the more I play 1.09 the less of a problem it is for me. It truthfully is a matter of having a balanced fleet, including your own carriers now. Its not like the old days where if 5 carriers were mixed in a fleet you laughed and slaughtered them.

The only race capable of doing a "pure carrier army" is the advent and even they cant pull it off really since they damn things cost a fortune for advent. 1200credits 250 metal, 250 crystal e 20 support each hehe. (those aren't the actual numbers I don't think I forget what the exacts are regardless you get the point)

downloading now. Looking forward to it.

After a long vacation of 8 years from PC gaming I decided to build a computer just to play RTS's again since consoles never do them justice. This game has pleasantly surprised me. It's top notch and I'm looking forward to playing many a battle with it.

Ships auto join fleets properly now!! I love the added explosions too.

Yes, right now, if your prepaired for the strike-craft heavy (and I mean HEAVY) battles, 1.09 might be good for you. Better graphics, seems to work better with online MP, but don't bother with Flak now, as it's gone from a SC mass-murderer to pretty much just being able to shake it's fist at SC (I wish you'd die, but I can't do anything about it, so I'll just shoot my blanks at you).

I think Malice has been nerfed (or some say normalized) alot. The Marketplace always being accessable from the main screen is a huge leap forward in my opinion. I've heard Returning Armada is not so OP now (not sure, I never play Varasi).

If they ever release the next version of the beta, that might be the time to give it a try.

Is there a way I can backgrade to 1.05?  Would I just update the game through impulse?   

I just bought this game and I just wanted to see how some mods look on it.

No you cant backgrade simmyaz. It requires a complete fresh reinstall and update to 1.05. Which if you decide you are going to do that just do what I did. Install a second copy of sins in a different folder so that you can run 1.05 when you want and 1.09 when you want. The game doesn't take up much space so no biggie.

awesome.  great idea.  I would've never thought of that.  Im putting some serious hours into this game now that if found it.  The community of modders is solid and i'm glad i came across all of this.  thanks again.

actually if i uninstall and reinstall 1.05, does that count as an installation?

Unlimited installations. You're allowed to have it on two computers you own at once, though you can only play one online.
