Recently I was playing a game as Vasari when i found something important.
If you take a small fleet of say frigates and cruisers, and you have a Skiranta, make a Kortul with it. The Skiranta can pump off fighters and bombers while the Kortul does the dirty work.
THe Kortul, obviously, has good firepower, speed and overall brutality on the battlefront. To prove this, I have compared the Kortul with a Kol.
Kortul Kol
Primary Role: Combat Combat
Shield Power: High High
Hull Points: Very High Very High
Antimatter: Low Low
Squadrons Supported: 1 (Upgradeable to 2) None (Upgradeable to 2)
Now, they're both fitted for combat. I've noticed the Kortul seems a tiny bit slower than the Kol. The Kortul may have less Health than the Kol, but I've noticed shields are quite a bit harder to take down than hull. And the Kortul, fortunately, has more shield points.
They both have the same amount of antimatter. The Kortul carries one squadron in the beginning, upgradeable to two. It gives you an extra chance to make more fighters. In a battle against a Kol, the Kortul would must likely win, because it carries one squadron more than the Kol before upgraded, giving you the upper hand.
So, a Kortul and Skiranta vs. a Kol (as I tested earlier today) ended with the Vasari victorious. The Skiranta had taken no damage at all, and because of the Kortul, she survived.
They're a good pair of Capital Ships and a good choice to help hold planets and asteroids from enemy raids.
