I've been watching some videos on Youtube of Sins and noticed a lot of them show a really crisp black background like you'd find in real space. I think it looks great and the effects look much better. When I play, there always seems to be a hue in the background, like I'm in a nebula.

Is this displaying a team colour or something? Is there a way to turn it off?

Also, I've change the thread from just the background effects to anything that annoys people and could easily be fixed.

So far we got the background visual noise (bright colours and nebulae) and the galaxy menu jumping all over the place.

You have to uncheck both the "Use deep space skyboxes" and the "Use colored skyboxes" in the effects menu for a black background.

You sir get a Karma for that!!!

(edity* I also took the "Show Mesh Highlight" feature off. Looks awesome now!)

While I'm at it,

The galaxy menu or whatever it's called on the left hand side of the screen, it displays all the worlds and what's inside each one. Whenever I try to use it, it jumps all over the place. It drives me insane because I'll be trying to order my fighters to attack certain ships in the list, but hte list keeps jumping around everytime a fighter dies or a scout jumps in. In large battles I go insane trying to use it because I end up clicking on the wrong ship, halfway through a 5 shift-click command!

I also would like to prevent tech tree from jumping up and down. Also when you double click on a planet or the tech tree, should'nt corrisponding planet center on tech tree or visa versa?

Not sure about double click, but click + spacebar works. Spacebar is Sins' generic "center on" key that works on pretty much everything.

Was this addressed at all in 1.11? This still seems to happen all the time.
