1.1 Running really slowly

Ever since I installed 1.1 Sins runs really slowly. I have turned all the graphic options to low (I used to keep them on high and it ran fine). I have a gig of RAM and an GeForce 7900 graphics card. It's reached the point where I can't even play it anymore, it just crawls. It even seems that it runs slower when I try to turn up the speed with +/- keys. Can anyone give me some advice?

update your ram to 3gigs at least and maybe your graphics card to the 8600 then update to 1.12

so...spend a few extra hundreds of dollars to play a 30 dollar game?

My advice, update as usual...personally I've never seen a performance difference but whatever, updatings always a good idea, and then simply play on very small maps...

VERY small maps. 

That or I dunno, wait a few years when computers are so advanced they practically have rectum controlled interfaces and your sins copy is all dusty and forgotten, then dig it up one day and try it out on your new futuristic duds.

To be fair I'm runnng on a comp with a pentium 4, a Nvidia 256mb Geforce 6600 and 3 gigs of RAM, the very small map thing is all i'm capable of doing and keep sane.

Hardware isn't the answer if he truly was running on high and after the patch he runs bad on low.  Drivers or failing hardware maybe, but an upgrade shouldn't be the suggested solution.

I'd try reverting to an earlier patch and running the game if you archived one.  Honestly, I can't see how the 1.1 patch could have really added much in the way of taxing your graphics capability to that sort of degree.

thats exactly the attitude i mean when im talking about "everything is about cash"

b4 u can even make that statement think what FAQ on this site says,  

Recommended Requirements:

  • 2.2 GHz Dual- or Quad-Core Processor
  • 1 GB RAM (2 GB for Windows Vista)
  • 256 MB DirectX 9 3D Video Card (Radeon X1600 / GeForce 7600 and above)

that means that 2 gigabyte of ram is more then enough FOR VISTA  and 1 gig for XP,  whatever the reason,  it shouldnt lag unless he is using vista,  in wich case he should either downgrade back to XP (wwich works way better)  or buy 1 gig extra         i'm pretty shocked to hear someone actually suggest to get 3 gigs,   your practiclly saying he should spend money on an overpriced solution

He is probably using ddr2 667 ot ddr2 800 memory which is dirt cheap now a days. Upgrading to 2 gigs makes a lot of sense actually(maybe not 3 but meh). But honestly, memory is probably not the issue.

I would suggest upgrading all drivers and what not to see what happens. I would also suggest cleaning out your case of all dust, especially on the fans, to prevent over heating and under clocking.

If all else fails... christmas is coming.

Yeah i went a little overboard sorry about that and i stated would cost $60 to $80, but dont worry about thtat anymore, what shadzu said about updating drivers do help, and buying one gig is uber cheap in the christmas season
