I like Entrenchment so far but a couple of little things that in my opinion would make things a little better.
Simplest one, starbases need a bit more range on their weapon systems.
Second one, as the title suggests, is the mines. They're a great tactical device but need to be tweaked a little bit mainly because of the Vasari spam everyone seems to have noticed. Removing mines I don't think is the way, the concept adds too much to the tactical game. I was thinking either you could get all the mine-laying systems like the TEC one, possibly more expensive with a larger blast radius and large detection radius with a limit on the number of mines per well.
The other way I was thinking was instead of having phased individual mines, you have a phased mine control unit, one per gravity well, that when it's alive and active every enemy ship in the gravity well takes periodic damage and maybe slows movement speed by 10% or somesuch (with scouts and strikecraft being immune). Obviously you'd have to make them easier to detect than individual mines.
Just a few ideas, might or might not be any good, feel free to shoot the ideas down if there's an obvious flaw I've missed.
