Been playing Entrenchment. I thought these star bases were to be last line of defense type structures. As it stands I can put one in every well pretty dang early. Is this the way it was meant to be? I thought these things were to be massive mid-late game defense structures that could “tank” the defense of a well until help could arrive or be the center of elaborate defenses you have setup in that well that very well might be able to repel an invasion it self. Or at least inflict heavy invading fleet pain. Is this not right?
They seem too common to me. And their size isn’t very imposing imo. I think/thought they were to be the size such that on scouting one out the player would say, “oh, s***”. Right now they seem pretty basic and, in my experience so far, are not to tough to take out. Aren’t they supposed to be really, really hard to take out?
My assumptions could be all wrong of course but that is what I was thinking going into this thing. I think the idea of them is cool and want them in game as I am a defensive player. But I am thinking that right now they need to be more imposing and way more expensive. Also having them be so common that you can put them in almost every well seems to defeat what they are imo. I think the player should have to think about where they put one rather than place them wherever. Just like you make decisions on your choke points which affect the game I think placing star bases should be the same. That is, “ok, I really, really need to make this a choke point so I will take the resource and cost hit to put a star base there”.
I don’t expect them to be planet size of anything but maybe giant moon-size would work.
Right now they are to inline with other structures imo.
