Big game with lots of ships keep crashing the game, reprodusable

Hi. Ive been having a blast here and having ALOT of ships in the game at the same time.. But after a while the game keeps crashing alot, and now i got a savegame that instantly crashes the game!! Hence reprodusable.

The crash acts as a ping sound in windows and the dump app from Sins pop's up as a black screen.. I have to kill it to continue..

PS! I notice during the crash that the game is using nearly 1,8GB of memory

Windows vista 64

Intel Q9550 8GB ram

Nvidia GTX200, 180.48 64bit drivers

Game version: 0.91.002

Game: 4 player, random, big fleet's

im having the same problem - before it even starts loading theres a minidump and i gotta quit out

also, I tried recording a game with fraps and it got stuck on cinematic mode, then the next time i played the dumps started happening. dunno if theyre related, but ive used fraps before so i doubt it.

someone help plz!

edit: my map is a large random with at least 1000 frigates total and many starbases and new entrenchment units if that helps

If its a long game vs the comp AI, my bet is its due to the insane amounts of mines.... just a guess. Playing vs Advent or Vasari AI and the game goes on for few hours, its a crash fest, especially when i sent in scouts and could see 2 or 3 planets loaded with mines / fighters / bombers. Vs Tec AI its much better as they do not seem to spam every planet with 1000 mines - prob due to cost.
