Three Questions Regarding Beta vs. Final Game

I was wondering three things:

1. Will the beta last until the full game is released, or will it be like Halo 3's beta that lasted a week?

2. Will the beta be patched, or will everything that is changed only be changed for the final release?

3. Will there be anything (ships, planets, defenses) in the final game that is not in the beta?

1) It will last until the final release.

2) It will be patched. Obviously the final release will probably be one patch over the beta, but the beta is due for at least one update.

3) Nothing that big. The beta is almost complete, save for a few more minor things (like trade route tweaking). The big ones, like mines/starbases/anti-structure cruisers are all in.

Ok 1 and 2 are pretty much common sense but where are you getting your info for number 3?  I would have thought at least mines needed to be tweaked

Tweaked yes, but as far as features I couldn't point you to a specific place because I don't have the link, but Blair basically posted a while back that Entrenchment beta 1 is more or less feature complete and the main things are all in it. And I believe that's also on the loading screen.

Both mines and starbases are due for tweaks, but they exist already There won't be anything completely new as such in the final release.

I think what annatar is saying is that all that the expansion is adding, that was'nt in orginal sins (cruisers, mines and starbaces ) is in there now. My gess (speculation) is that these items will still have minor tweaks

What do you mean they exist already?

As in, we get to play around with them Can deploy mines, build starbases, etc. They're still being tweaked and balanced, but they're there.
