Hello,

wouldn't it be great if i could scrap my SB military moduls if the frontline changes. I could then refit the Starbase with economy upgrades, so it still keeps to be useful.

Just a thought.

That could be a useful idea, but it should take a long time and it should cost money to refit a starbase.

Possibly, it is one ability that trashes every upgrade on the base.

I think that is a great Idea.  I dissagree that it should take a long time.  Say for instance you had a startbase that was on a frontier planet so at 1st you upgraded with all defensive powers - later on in the game this planet is going to be  amid tier planet and is well defended by other other lying planets and phase destabelizers.  now you should be able to get some of those armaments off there and make it a trade station .  I've been feeling the same way about that.

There's a simpler solution already in-game!  Scuttle the base and build a new one!

you don't just scuttle and rebuild a starbase you just spent tons of resources and time on. You should be able to replace the modules

I think the point was that "replacing" modules only gives you back 30% and so why not just scuttle the whole base and start from scratch.  I disagree with the "replace modules" for free idea entirely.  The whole point of this game is that when you make decisions, undoing it is not free (i.e., fleet cap, research).  I do agree you should be able to scuttle portions and get 30% back.

I dont think it should be free either.

Scuttling should give you the same as if you scuttled any other structure. Scuttling will give the slot back and nothign else. If you want to fill it, you need to pay as normal.

@VRaptor: Why would i want to scrap the whole SB, just to change one or two modules of eight?
