Hi!
is there any viable way to destroy mines other than running a bunch of light frigates through?
Vs. AI, and after I cleared most structures and ships from the grav well, I just ran my 8 cap ships (all level 7+) over those homing mines, one "pocket" of ~20 mines at a time. They took damage only to shields, but the shield restoring ability of my Advent Mothership repaired them in no time.
To attack through a heavily mined phase line, I usually jump in ~5 scouts on the very edge of the grav well, and manually ordered them to attack a mine deep in the minefield. They reveal lots of mines there before they die, so when I jump in with my main fleet, it could clear those mines. Then some scouts, that jumped in with the fleet, reveal more mines, usually making a (mostly) clear path for my fleet to the center of the grav well. However this approach works for me on my old comp, because there a late-game second takes three or more seconds of the real time, so I have time to do that MM. But for advent mines I don't have a cheap answer. I simply need to sacrifice some ships.
It would be cool if advent mines would decloak after they move to a target.
BTW did anyone notice mines re-cloak, if they aren't destroyed soon after they are de-cloaked by a scout?
