In fact, for #2 you don't even need to run Impuse to launch your games, they can all be run on their own.

Actually, there is an install limit, it's just that you aren't going to run into it.  They've done a superb job at hiding it from the average joe (I think it's time, rather than count, based, so if you upgrade every 6 months they don't care, it's if you install 10 times in one day they take note).

I think some of the hate comes from the fact that it needs IE7 to be installed.  Because of the security flaws inherent in IE and its integration into Windows, I would think people would keep IE up to date out of sheer paranoia.

well, I think that IE7 is the BASE requirement for Impulse. IE8 is the newest IE version, so why wouldn't it be compatible with Impulse (or rather vice versa).

BF2142= Battlefield 2142. It's an FPS game. IMO it was one of the best, but EA just had to mess it up. If only DICE (the actual MAKERS of the Battlefield FPS series) could distribute, provide tech support, and market the game all on the own.

yes, I feel bad for DICE, having to put up with EA. The only thing I would even THINK about buying from EA is the C&C series (yes, even CnC3&RA3), the Battlefield series, and Emperor:Battle For Dune (<-IF EA even makes that one).

I still buy from EA too, as they have some series I enjoy a lot. I certainly don't pre-order from them, and the first thing I ask at release is what the DRM is like, aka, how did EA managed to fkup another release this time. Impulse is a good product, and the activation limit seems to be less about activation limit is hardly that at all more like a hmm, something is weird is going on with this copy better stop it type thing. i can think of only a few legit cases where that could happen and with a company like Stardock, I am guessing they'll make it right. I mean they are the only company that gives refunds that I know of, that says a lot in itself.
