Key bindings, how do the experienced players setup their keyboards? I am sick and tired of the "click and drag" unit selecting. How can I take advantage of the games interface ( ship groupings, fleet management)? I get into battle and my ships just do whatever they want. Unless I tell them not to.
I set up the planet tree to stack(?) units, where it tells me how many of each unit I have in 10's. Is it more advantageous to have it set up to show each individual unit?
I have started to turn on the "hold position" button on more precious units that I hope to keep alive i.e TEC command crusiers or Advent Guardians, then click them around the grav well where I wish them to go. I hate when my whole fleet goes to take on an enemy SB automatically and they get blown out of the sky.
I have turned the auto enable on all my cap ship functions OFF, they always run out of antimatter doing things I don't want them too. Are there keybindings for those? I am tired of the "click on cap, click on ability, click on target" routine. Also, what abilities are better to leave auto enabled and which to use manually i.e. Hoshinko repair bots and their other attacking ability, should I auto enable healing and manually operate the other?
In other words: how can I better micro manage my fleet?
I am fairly new to RTS games, though I do have a copy of Warcraft III that I played a little, so that might explain my ignorance on this topic.
