More Depth in Economical Trade and government.
Politics in Sins of a solar empire
I was thinking of an idea recently involving some kind of political system being introduced into the game to allow different players to play more varied and allow some kind if system which would allow players to play more different games and tactics. Here are my ideas.
Politics
I want to suggest more roles which could affect this for example different type of government s. an act through government for example nay hinder a number of things involving in the game, including the economy of a player. Like an Empire TW system of government.
For example, if a conservative party enters into government, then for example you may have an increase revenues from your planets and trade ports due to the government heavily favouring businesses, and of course, allowing them to have more freedom within the economy, so making more money. Taxes would also be raised. Less likely party to be in debt due to spending within there means. Also less likely to give out ‘short term’ loans if needed by the player.
The drawbacks to a conservative party would be a slightly lower allegiance to the planet; planet rebellions would occur a lot more then under then a labour government. A MAJOR drawback would be if a player goes into recession, then a conservative party will be the most affected party of them all due to the party principles of saving money, then spending it policy.
For example, A labour Government may encourage economy growth as well, but not as much as the conservative party would. There strengths would be increased diplomatic relations and an increase in trading with foreign/ or other players, instead of isolation which would be favourable for a conservative party. A labour government would also have increased tax rates, a higher planet allegiance. Also more likely to give out ‘short term’ loans if needed by the player.
Drawbacks to a labour party is that they will more likely to become in debt then the conservative party, due to spending above there means, so accumulating more debt. Has more control of business decisions, so encouraging a less ‘free market’ for a more controlled market system, so encouraging less growth. And if the population is not happy with its employers of business, this may lead to strikes which will cause short term delays or even decreasing income of the player for a short while.
If you like my ideas, I will increase details further. More Political Parties to come.
MORE TO COME SOON!
