Greetings testers! We've been running into desync issues with Sins: Diplomacy that we could use everyone's help in tracking down. Please use the Sins of a Solar Empire Diplomacy Dev.exe while testing this out and clear out your Checksum folder (mentioned below) after each test.
In order to send us useful data, you'll need to modify your user.setting file located at:
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Settings
Win 7/Vista: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Settings
Modify the following values to what's below:
CalculateCheckSumTickFrequency 50CalculateCheckSumDetail 2SaveCheckSumSnapShotsInGameTickFrequency 0SaveCheckSumSnapShotsOnSave FALSEIsCheckSumLoggingOn TRUE
If you get a desync, please zip up your Checksum folder (it'll be a directory at the location above) shortly after the desync occurs, along with your most recent save game and email it to sinssupport@stardock.com with the Subject: Diplomacy Desync.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
<Bit of hating>
Me and my best mate LOVE playing the game, but have kinda been unable to play diplomacy at all since release due to dumps and desyncs...
One month and one patch later, still no sight of any fix for either of the issues? /cry
Hi,
what's the status of this problem, we've played a couple of multi player games, but it is totally broken because of this desync issue. CTD (minidumps) and it seems as we're playing almost two different game scenarios.. We haven't played the dev-exe version, but I have both my own saves and my peer's...
If you have friends to play with already, try the multi-player IP connect. I never had an issue. Whom ever has tha faster upload rate should be the host. A lot of ISPs upload rate is very low.
