choppy sound

sound is choppy, sound like robot

so my problem is that whenever i play SoSE the sound gets choppy. i posted a video (external link) to show an example. currently, it sounds like there are robots commanding the ships.

any help?

I'm wondering if this might be some sort of a CPU-related issue such as Sins hogging the CPU.

I've had a similar problem and fixed it by changing my speaker output from 5.1 Surround sound speakers to Surround sound speakers.

Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Devices->Advanced->Speaker Setup
