Who wants the ability to set the auto join fleet as off by default?

So the title pretty much says it.

Basically: put in your vote if you would like the ability to set auto join fleet to off by default so when ships come out of grav wells they dont join the WRONG fleet or a random group of ships.

if you have any other small tweaks like this, feel free to post them and based on popularity ill add them to the main post so more people can see

I'm for it.  Not sure if it would get me to start using fleets, but it's definitely necessary before I do.

I have an even better idea.  Allow players to click on a frigate factory and tell it what the settings should be for new ships--auto-join fleets and attack range.  All ships produced at that factory receive the chosen settings until the player changes the settings.

why not just introduce a mini-mod yourself? just edit all of the frigate and caps entity files and find the line called autoJoinFleetDefault TRUE to autoJoinFleetDefault FALSE

id have to learn some modding for that... and (eventually) i can do anything for myself, im asking if anyone else would like such a feature...

also, im of the opinion that if enough people want a certain fix (like putting in an option to have starbases pinned automatically or not) then it should be the developers responsibility to implement it, and not rely on modders to do it...

autojoin is off by default.  Just have your factory set a rally point that is NOT a ship.

If you are talking to me, I play Diplomacy and Entrenchment.  If I want ships to not join a fleet, I just zoom into a planet and then set my rally in the gravity well there.  I then collect them and put them in a new control group like control 2 for example.

except you have them rally at point X and if there is another fleet in the same grav well they'll go to point X then fly to join the fleet at point Y, at least thats always been my experience...

I wish theres a window to set how many of what types of units you want in a fleet. so you can have 2 fleets in a grav well and every new unit that enters it will join a fleet that is lacking that type of unit.

eg. Fleet set to 30 frigates, 20 cruisers. 2 capital ships etc....

so, a new cobalt is built and even if the fleet in that grav well has auto-join turned off, the new cobalt will still join that fleet?

I believe auto-join is game wide in that if it is on all ships built with no fleet will try to join a fleet.

I really like auto-join but it does have limitations with 2 fleets in the same grav well

i dont... i want new ships to be built, and sit outside their factories until i assign them a fleet, give them instructions or an enemy comes into the GW...

Actually,,,, Im happy with how Auto fleet is done right now, so if they change it then Ill have troubles. And will have to learn how to use it once again.

I've only ran into a problem with it when your trying to group two fleets in a grav well, and add ships to either of those fleets. The other situation is when your in a battle and you want to send re-enforcements. Ultimately, I think auto-join works for most of the time, however, it'd be nice to see an option in the ship's tactics where you could assign it to a particular fleet, no matter where it was at, and maybe it would jump there, or just join if it comes "upon" that gravwell....
