Think of this thread as something similar to conceptships.blogspot.com for the Sins community. Basically, a way for the community to share what they have created whether it makes it into a mod or not.

At a minimum post a screen shot of your model in blender, xsi, 3d object converter, etc or in game. If you have a name for your ship or story behind it, even better.

We are looking forward to seeing what you have created!

Interested in importing your models into Sins?

Visit http://soase.weebly.com/modeling.html (thanks myfist0)
The soase.weebly is a compilation of many of the hard to find topics created by many experienced soase modders and extensively added to by myfist0. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

From the beginning of this thread IskatuMesk has wow'd us with his models and ultimately released a video of his creations in Sins of a Solar Empire. This particular model was my favorite in the beginning and still stands out.

SivCorp looking to stretch new ideas from existing models managed to create several menancing models including the fantastic Vasari version seen here: (Vasari Flagship Sonar Kal'd used in the Distant Stars Mod)

It's my thread so a few of my stuff...

To start...all of the new ships in Rebellion.

I can't find where the converted models are for Trinity--I have almost all of them but have lost a couple.  No one seems to have them up?

I can get them onto MyFist0's site if we can assemble them.

Quoting harpo99999,
myfist0 had done the conversions for the dip/ent/vanilla meshes, so we can hope to ask him to do similar.

Can you find a link by chance?  I am doing ten things here and might have missed them.  Thanks if you can!

The link is also available on the Modder's-Get-An-Answer thread.

Updated a bit. I just got a large video project out of the way so I've been taking a break, but I hope to start picking up the modeling pace in the near future.

Hmm.... It looks.... too fat?  Maybe its just the angle, but the ship just looks like it is too wide.

Just some constructive criticism.  The details and overall design... I like the direction it is going.

If you had some sort of particle effect centered in that open hole up front might be really distinctive.  Some sort of bottled energy waiting for release.

This will be my official "pirate" ship for my pirate minimod now that we can actually have some chance of controlling fleet sizes..  It's a cruiser sized capital ship and each will have a single weapon type doing different sorts pof damage.

Concept is "Rogue I's pirating for needed support and material parts using captured ships for salvage".

Zombie and I were talking one night about the Lexx and I thought as an inside joke I'd create a "mantrid drone".

They were little antigrav floating Ai brains with a cyborg arm and hand that constantly built new drones.

Eventually so many were built they formed a supermassive singularity and collapsed the entire known universe.

They will be less cute when they bare shooting at you.  Single weapon...very low rate of fire...hateful damage.

I am a fraud and a cheat Tobi.

These are mostly kitbashes--hopefully cleverly done so as not to get caught.

That's the center of the Deliverance Engine with a few touches added by carefully making the model around the textures.

One day I'll learn xsi--maybe in the retirement home.

Here are some more shots of others...

For example, the Gas Giant tankers I made for each faction are variations of the Phase and Tech Refinery ships and use their texture sheets and the Psi one is the texture for the Psi constructor--also using the model turned upside down and flipped end to end with a couple of hand crafted stylish additions I added that carry the textures well enough.  These are all cruiser size ships.

Consider it a vanity bump.

Here are a couple of shots...

TEC heavy bomber (squadroned only on Starbases and planet hangars).

The Explorer Class Cruisers which are unarmed by better defended capture ships for capturing resource asteroids and natively capturable units found in several mods (it will be used in mine for this purpose).

They are all "kitbashes" but the idea is to use existing textures in the game and to reflect a modular, recycled design philosophy.

You've played Maelstrom right? It's all good. Most people will hardly notice and half of those won't really care.

Lol--I don't care.

The stretched textures are a little washed or too bright on occasion and sometimes you see the odd pattern or a little shadow strobing but I tweak 'till I have a usable result.

The heavy bomber looks really good actually and all of them have customization--it isn't just two pieces glued together.

One day in the retirement home when real life has faded, I'll spend my four waking hours a day doing nothing but learning xsi.
