Destruction of Planets

its been asked but i couldnt find a clear awnser

Hi, guys

 

I'm treing to figure out if it is possible to destroy planets and replace them with say an asteroid field or any other type of random debries, ive tried to search for it but I couldnt find any awnsers to it. If anyone would be so kind is to tell me if this is possible I would very much apriciate it!

Nope, can't happen. You aren't the first to try (as you may have noticed) and many of us have tried. It simply just doesn't work out.

Actually, It is possible to make the mesh vanish. It just uses a heck of a lot of memory.

There are several different pipeline effects that cancel meshes. Unfortunately you have to use a mesh that is the exact size of aforementioned mesh. This creates problems as asteroids and planets are differently sized.
