Well it is technically not the weekend yet, but still we have put Sins of a Solar Empire – Trinity on sale today through the weekend.  Sins – Trinity is on sale for 33% off bringing it to around $20 for the game which includes Sins, and the two micro-expansions: Entrenchment and Diplomacy.

With rebellion on its way which will contain everything trinity's got... itll prolly be a hard sell.

I'm hoping they get buyers--with the $10 price difference to up it to Rebellion, you're basically getting Trinity for $10 (if you plan to buy Rebellion).  And the profits mean more dev money and incentive for them to keep working on it.

Yup, if you plan to get Rebellion, it's basically on sale for $11.  (The page I saw was selling the download for $21.)

I was convinced that I should wait until Rebellion before forking out the cash.

I also used to use a present tense in place of "was".

Also, is the upgrade discount permanent? Or is it just if you pre-order?

Is there any word on the release date for the beta? I am highly considering getting this. I've been waiting for a sale on trinity for quite some time now. But with Rebellion announced, I dunno.

Oh what time does this end? The email I got about this implied it ended sometime on Tuesday. But this is saying "weekend".

Nevermind, I played the demo again. Then went "what the heck" and bought it. It's at least worth the ~$20 I spent on it. And if I really like it, it'll be worth the $10 I spent on it.

  The way I see it, if the appeal of this game lasts only a short while then it was only $20, if I end up getting rebellion it will be like I spent $10 to play it till rebellion comes out. 

 

I'm still curious about how long I have for the Upgrade discount.

I hope you enjoy it, ag_1988.  I had never played an RTS before until a group of gaming friends in another game pirated the original way back in early 2008 when the game came out.  I read reviews and watched YouTube videos and decided to gamble and purchase it (because I'm not a pirate).  I quickly fell in love and it's been my #1 game ever since.  If you really get into it and learn the game well, you can also play it against human players in online multiplayer, which adds an entirely new dimension to the game's strategy and makes it much more interesting and fun IMHO.

Be sure to read this thread first if you ever play online since you might have to fix the Mesh Error:

I have trinity already, but had I not... combine it with the $10 off rebellion, it meant that you were actually getting it for $10 so I would have jumped on that wagon!
