Quick Question for Fallout 3 please?

Hello all,

Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition was one of the things I purchased on sale at play.com last september. Got around to playing it and like it very much. Today, I finished the Main Quest -- and hence, what appears to be the game. I had imagined that because I had the Game of the Year Edition, with all 5 add-ons, I would be prompted after game completion to load those scenarios. But I can't. I don't know what I should do. In the main game menu, the section "Download" is no longer grayed out after I watch the final credits, but when I click it, there is nothing to view under "View Available Content". Selecting "Live" in the menu (which I have only done once before by mistake) always has the same effect: an awful popup from Windows Live, after which the game freezes up and I must use task manager to shut down FO3.

I guess it would not hurt to mention I am playing the PC version on a Windows 7 (home premium) machine. The game played like a charm, basically bugless for me the entire time.

So, to be short, can anyone help me? What must I do to access the add-ons promised in the GOTY edition?

Thank you greatly

The DLC's add area's that you can visit in the game, they're not separate scenarios. I haven't finished the complete game yet so I'm not completely sure about this, but I guess you have to visit them before you finish the main quest. If you have the DLC's installed correctly you should see several quests (Into the Pitt, The local flavor, etc) in your quest log. These will guide you to the transfer points to the new area's.

Are you playing with mod's btw? I can highly recommend FWE, MMM and a few other, they make the game much more fun.

Broken Steel does allow you to continue after the end of the main storyline if it is installed, so check that it's present and enabled in the launcher.

Thank you, but I'm afraid that I do not understand either reply. I cannot "continue" after completing the final quest; after completing it, you are dumped to the main menu, and clicking "continue" simply loads the last save game (e.g. just before ending). Kryo, how can I see if the game is installed correctly? I installed the Game of the Year Edition; I am not sure what you mean by launcher, do you mean the main menu? There is nothing there to check, it appears....

THanks tons

Apparently you don't have a launcher. Try out this download. Its set up for mods but you can do basic plus the extras only if you wish.

That FOMM rocks! Not only does it allow you to enable/disable content, you can also dictate the loading sequence of DLC/mods.

Here's another useful link:

This will let you make your own mods.

Thanks so much. I'm having trouble running it, however, it says that it cannot read what it apparently needs to read. I checked through the FAQ and it said if I get this error then I need to totally reinstall FO3 into a different location; but being the computer illiterate that I am, that does not look idiot-proof and I am afraid I will lose my save-games
