Running older WB's on Windows 7

We all do this at one time or another, we go through the WinCustomize WindowBlinds Gallery Library, find one we really like and say 'boy I wish the skinner would update this WB for Windows 7'.

So my question to those in the know is will the older skins run okay or is it a question of each skin and how it was made?

Now before anyone asks this is not about the quality of WindowBlinds being made today, they are great.  This question is because if a new theme skin gets uploaded for an older WB it provides a chance for some of us newer members of the community to see what some of the early skinners were doing.

So, are there major problems I would run into?

I've used older skins with no problems...and I usually run them while I'm skinning them for winstep. Some things may not look right such as some menus but I haven't had that happen to often.

There tend to be more issues of bits being unskinned or the defaults looking out of place, but in general older skins I've tried on 7 "work." Depends on your degree of annoyance with small details being wrong I suppose. I am fairly intolerant of this, on a couple I just went ahead and updated the blind for my own use.

Most older skins will have the same old problems, mostly bits unskinned, missing etc. and some depending on age will just look like plain crap

Only way to know, is to load em up, one by one.

Personally, I cant use any skin on 7 that wasn't skinned for 7... and.. some that were

Mostly that, Philly. I've found quite a few of the "classics" still show reasonably well in Win7. Skins as old as 2004  shouldn't be overlooked due to age. Magic pink or black text areas are instant killers for me.

 "Apply 'em and try 'em"

I use IE8 the most and a lot of it isn't skinnable anyway but older skins still do the buttons well.

I still use my old skins. Apart from the odd missing bit they work fine. I've never felt the need to update them.

Yup, they'll work but stuff will be out of alignment and missing. I just can't deal with it personally but if you can, hey, s'all good...

Well I'm running neOS, a WB by danilloOc, and it seems to be working okay.  The only problem I see is the shut down menu.  Working on putting together a suite for this.
