INSTALLATION
=============================================
The whole mod is around 2.2 GB in size, when extracted

Extract the contents of the zip file to your sins mod directory
Example for windows XP C:\Documents\\My Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.X
Example for Vista/Win 7/Win 8 C:\Users\\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.X

Next, before installing the mod proper, one must enable the Large Address Flag on Sins' exe.

This is is required for SoGE to work, or else it will not function correctly. This will not interfere with your ability play with other people (i.e. a person without an LAA exe can play with someone who has an LAA exe), nor does it break any rules set out by Stardock or Steam.

Step by step instructions:
1) Open "Large Address Aware.exe".
2) Select "Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion.exe" to modify (click on the "..." button to browse). It can be found in the following folder:
...\Steam\steamapps\common\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion
3) Check the box specifying that you want to make the game large address aware.
4) Click on save to save the changes.

To activate the mod, open the EnabledMods.txt file present in the previously mentioned folder and edit the file like so (this can be copy-pasted in):

The blank line must be present in order for the game to read the EnabledMods.txt file correctly.

An editted version of EnabledMods.txt has been provided with the mod; these instructions are here in the event that the provided file is lost.

The mod should be working fine if the only races you can select are Star Wars races. If this is not the case you have not properly installed the mod in your mods folder.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THE INGAME MODS OPTION PAGE TO ENABLE THE MOD, THIS OFTEN RESULTS IN A CRASH AND IS KNOWN TO CAUSE INSTABILITY.

ADDON INSTALLATION

SoGE also has several addons available for it, which introduce various changes to the mod. Included in the main download is the "Squad Size Reduction" addon, which condenses all fighter squadrons into having a single super fighter and edits anti-fighter abilities to reflect that change. This addon was created primarily to reduce lag, for both singleplayer and multiplayer matches.

To install an addon, one must once again edit EnabledMods.txt, and place the addon above the main mod in the list like so:

A new release depends mostly on the availability of models, and thus mainly if I can get Softimage and ConvertXSI to work for me right. If I can, getting models for the NR's frigate and fighter fleets can be acquired and thus they can be completed. Tech tree are done, factions are balanced, and maps are done. Strings need to be fixed; though I know how that can be done, I just need time.

I believe it can be done soon (i.e. in a few months), though ultimately, it depends on what feedback we get on the beta and what we can get assistance for.

As you all may or may not know, I'm currently working on assembling the NR frigate fleet, and completing the NR cruiser lineup. However, I lack the models to do so As such I am are requesting, if anyone has them, to send me .3ds, .max, or the model format of your choice, as long as it's usable in 3ds max, plus textures if available, the following:

The New Class ships as depicted in Cracken's Threat Dossier are a little suspect considering that each of the pairs of ships with the same keel length are supposed to be built on the same space frame.

Yeah, have noticed that, I'm not a huge fan of the Dossier though for most ships it's the only image there is of them, even if they rather... Suck.

Hah, so that's what that "Sacheen" model in z3r0x's mod is. Yeah, that's a good suggestion, and I even have that model onhand, and being one of EJ's models I'd be able to slap it in. I owe a point of karma, whenever that system decides to work again, for this.

Problem was in that one was that I had forgotten to add in the NM texture to the .mesh's coding, so obviously it wasn't called in.

Ahh i see the Q's and A's for the ships size on the mods site. Would there be a way to have two different dl for small sized and one for big? Just seeing if there could be that option in the next update    Its an nice mod.

Lol i guess that is an option too Just thought that it would be more familiar on your end, but if you guys have no plans on making them biger then thats that. Maybe some one could make an mod on making the ships biger for this mod.  Any way nice mod

We've looked into the 1.0E minidump issue a bit more; it appears some ships which are not even buildable were calling for an ability which does not exist. This has been fixed and the patch in the OP has been updated, link here for reference.

I hope you guys release for diplomacy I really loved this mod, and prefer it over requiem in almost all respects. It really captured the Star Wars feel.

Wow I followed tthis mod way back when I was still playing HW2 a great deal, but gave up because I thought it had stalled.  Glad to hear that you guys are going to take it up again.

Apologizes if it appeared to be stalled, until recently we haven't been paying much attention to the forums, having been sticking to the Warlords/SWR forums. EJ got a bit tied up with things a little while ago, so we haven't been updating the moddb page either, as he's the only one with access to it.

I to am awating this mod, And if there is a giant difererence i ship sizes like i heard there was.... GREAT! i want the cap ships to be massive compared to destroyers and frigs, i dont care if they are tiny specs comparitivly!

Capital ships are indeed larger than smaller ships like the Nebulon-B, fighter are tiny specs. The mod is already out, with 1.0E publicly, and a newer version in an easily access beta test (link is in the OP).

I sould have specified for Trinity/Diplomacy, however as i never use the diplomacy tree, i guess i wouuldnt be missing anyting by playing the Entrenchment version.
