What new faction do you want to play first?

When you get Rebellion, which faction do you want to play first?  Sure, you might change your mind after reading a change log or something, but right now, what does your gut tell you?

I'm really curious to see what the Advent rebels get.  I'm thinking they could have a better economy since they sound like they might be less belligerent.

TEC Rebels, the titan looks bitching. Though that may just be bacause it was the first shown, depends on what the other 4 look like

Seconded, I'd like to see how an offensive oriented TEC plays out. But they do have the cooler titan compared to the TEC loyalists.

Further, I advise that the Devs add custom map sharing to Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion.

Vasari Loyalists and Rebels both. I'm in the midst of a Vasari craze right now, so I'm dying to see both.

Something no one has talked about yet, won't each new faction have their own NEW Star Base???

Why would they? Starbases were developed when they were both one faction. Why duplicate the research costs with resources they don' have to come up with a different version of the same thing?

Vasari loyalists. Even more overpowered madness with vicious late-game abilities, but this time, with an even greater focus on combat.

Plus the starbases were effectually the start for the rebellion. It the bases weren’t built then the war wouldn’t have gotten to the stalemate thus the diplomatic path never would have opened. The rebellion is because the diplomatic option is insufficient in their eyes.

Why build more of what caused it in the first place? It’s like trying to get a bullet out of your arm by shooting it with another

To return to the main question: I would LOVE to play the VAsari Rebels. I just like the idea of the Vasari teaming up with a TEC Loyalist player and an Advent Rebel player as allies.

Probably Vasari (Whichever One Has the Cooler Titan).

Well. Titan is a big draw. I will probably go with the one that augments my vanilla Sins playstyle.

No. Would require an engine modification.

No, it could be done to some extent without. You are right though, if you were thinking of the planet to asteroid field effect we saw in the movie. There are plenty of ways to obliterate a planet and leave the hull there as an example to other would be rebels. We can already irradiate a planet, it would just be a matter of permanent effect and uninhabitableness. The more I talk about it the more is sounds like a good mod rather than an expansion.

Advent Loyalists!  Moar destructive psionic powers!

[Provided they are the faction that holds true to their revenge against the TEC.]

EDIT:  Definitely Advent Loyalists.

For the first time in their history, the war creates a schism in the Advent Unity. The loyalists seek to continue their policy of revenge against the Traders, and to assimilate all others to the Unity’s influence. However, others amongst the Advent suspect that a corrupting influence from within has diverted the Unity from its proper destiny.

Well the Devs could modify the engine for that, but that seems like something that could easily be abused.
