I was wondering if there was anyone who would like to play an Open-Diplomacy game with me.

"Open-Diplomacy" means no locked teams, Diplomatic Victory on, and other things.

Find a way to contact me if you wish to play a game of this sort.

Nobody ever plays this sort of thing bc it's so easy to start grouping due to "personal issues"

If you find a good crew to do casual games this can be done but it is tricky for the reasons Rovert10 has mentioned. I would also disable diplomatic victory as it still does not seem to work properly (or rather is not easily quantifiable).

I think I would be willing to give it a shot, it would definately make players think twice before massing their entire fleet for an all out invasion on another player, who knows who is on who's side.

A game of ultimate deception awaits!

I'd be up for it, I guess.  I have positive and negative feelings about the most recent changes to the Diplomacy system.  Now both parties need to send envoys (instead of just one) and it seems like it takes a long time for the relationship to build on each side.  For that reason, the Diplomacy additions aren't used much in multiplayer PvP games anymore.  However, for unlocked team FFA games it does make established diplomatic relations more valuable, so you're less likely to get stabbed in the back by an "ally" because creating the alliance in the first place took a large amount of effort and resources.

I'm up for it as well, so long as the game is on the diplomatic victory is off.

I've played a few of these unlocked games, and would be game for more.

Surprisingly, open diplomacy (unlocked teams) works best if all players start on the same team.  And you break alliances, rather than trying to form them.  Be sure to set a proper team size for Allied Victory.

I had not thought of that.  If everyone starts out on the same team, does that mean that everyone's relationship is 10.0 at the start?

I think I'm right, but that's five people.  Just need some more.

In 1.34 (Diplomacy), yes.  And the other significant difference, is you have full vision, so you have a good idea of the layout from the beginning, rather than beginning in a dark hole.

Unfortunately, in Rebellion (on Steam), you can't start unlocked teams with all starting on the same team, and there no longer is a minumum number for allied team victory.

Unfortunately, there isn't.  So, you want to arrange a time to play an open Diplo. game?
