Question regarding using mods

I haven't played this game for a while and i own the original and entrenchment.  If my brother buys trinity and we want to use the star wars mod is he able to do so?  I didn't know if he had options to load one xpack or the other or how that works since I don't have it.

Trinity is just each .exe packaged together. If you only have entrenchment and the mod for it then he would need to run the entrenchment.exe (the menu also lets you move back to entrenchment if you so desire) and use the mod then. Hopefully both of you are upgraded to the same version of entrenchment (1.053) as well.

Thanks for the info.  Do have one more question when you run mods can you find people who are running the same mod to play a game or do you have to know people in advance to really get a game going.

You have to know people in advance. Maybe this might be fixed with Rebellion, maybe.

On Entrenchment there are probably not a lot of people online period unless you've arranged a game. Even on Diplomacy there are maybe 100 people on a given day and which is too small to be able to find people playing a particular mod. Basically need to arrange it in advance.
